Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform complex and routine inspections to evaluate whether appropriate materials and construction processes are used and whether construction conforms to plans, specifications, and special provisions.
• Use higher‑grade equipment and perform complex calculations required for construction inspection.
• Work under limited or direct supervision depending on demonstrated knowledge.
• Review drawings to prepare for construction inspection.
• Understand construction design; document and communicate inspection results to supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or National Entity such as ACI or NICET in earthwork, asphalt, and concrete required by client or jurisdiction.
• Valid driver’s license.
• 6 years related experience (domestic and/or international travel may be required).
• Equivalent additional directly related experience considered in lieu of a degree.

Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
• Intermediate knowledge of arithmetic.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Adaptation to new technologies and quick learning of new applications.
• Advanced knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in highway construction.
• Ability to read, understand, interpret and explain construction plans and drawings, contract provisions, and specifications.
