BRIEF POSITION SUMMARYThe success of the Director of Supply Chain Compliance will be defined by their ability to develop programs and procedures to ensure that the organization complies with regulatory requirements and company policies. The role monitors business activities for supply chain compliance with applicable rules and regulations for local and international logistics operations. The Director of Supply Chain Compliance will be responsible for working with key stakeholders within the organization to establish and publish compliance metrics, respond to complex supply chain compliance related questions, assist with government inspections and investigations, implement internal controls, and develop compliance training.
The primary areas of responsibility will include federal government contracting and international trade. This role will also support development of compliance programs as needed for environmental health & safety programs.
- Develops and evolves global trade compliance roadmaps and strategies.
- Conducts trade compliance program assessments and monitoring, including data analysis protocols, and drive associated action plans. Coordinate and monitor third-party trade compliance and associated brokers.
- Stays up to date with legal, regulatory, and trade developments that impact business and provide timely legal guidance to identify risks and mitigate impacts.
- Establishes, manages, documents, and maintains a coordinated compliance program that meets the expectations of International, State and Federal regulators, corporate governance programs, customer and supplier requirements.
- Provides oversight and leadership for internal monitoring activities. Develop and implement program policies, procedures and practices designed to promote compliance with the requirements of International, State and Federal programs. Also, develop and implement policies and procedures that implement components of the compliance program.
- Works with business unit leaders to increase awareness of the importance of the compliance program and develop and maintain positive relationships between compliance and operations staff.
- Develops and executes cross-functional workflows utilizing compliance data to make business decisions. Coordinating with critical stakeholders on decision-making based upon tariffs, etc.
- Designs and coordinates the preparation and ongoing review of policies, procedures, training materials, and other communication tools to ensure departments meet compliance requirements.
- Manages internal compliance audits and publish monthly metrics to identify violations, propose solutions, and drive improvement.
- Develop and implement internal controls to ensure ongoing compliance with rules, regulations and contracts.
- Integrates compliance activities and controls into ERP, CMS and other related software systems.
- Translates compliance related data into sales and marketing packages for MSC product lines where applicable. Enhance and create customer facing regulatory solutions where applicable.
- Develops costing model for trade compliance activities
- Liaises with information security team to mitigate overall risk related within the supply chain as needed.
- Maintains company licensure and registrations.
- Acts as compliance representative on supplier council
- Works closely with the General Counsel and other leaders to execute the Company's global compliance strategy.
- Drives the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose.
- Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required
What You Need:
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience Required
- Required:
Minimum of 10 years' industry experience with compliance related activities - Demonstrated knowledge of government regulations as they relate to the administration of:
