About the Role

The Director, Sales - National Accounts is responsible for developing and executing strategic sales initiatives, managing relationships with the company's largest end‑user customers, and winning new national end‑user business. In this role, you will drive revenue growth by developing and executing national account strategies, negotiating contracts, and ensuring customer satisfaction across key accounts in select end‑user verticals. This position reports to the Sr.

Director of Sales.


** This role is field-based and can sit anywhere in the United States.**

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Account Management:
    • Develop, implement, and track strategic sales plans and initiatives to meet National Account goals.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision‑makers across National Accounts and national distributors.
    • Negotiate contracts including pricing, terms, and service agreements.
    • Define, communicate, and track key performance metrics and processes to guide the team in driving innovation and implementing marketing initiatives.
    • Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and Join Business Planning (JBP) sessions with National Accounts as well as National Distributors, ensuring alignment to business goals and performance metrics.
  • Cross‑Functional

    Collaboration:
    • Coordinate with marketing, product development, supply chain/demand planning and sales operations to ensure brand consistency, accurate forecasting, and service excellence.
    • Lead cross‑functional teams to deliver tailored solutions for national accounts.
    • Partner with Field Sales and National Distribution to secure and execute new business conversions
    • Represent the company at key trade shows and customer meetings.
  • Sales & Revenue Growth:
    • Drive new business development efforts to support top‑line growth, including identifying and securing new national account opportunities.
    • Monitor market, category, segment, and competitive trends and activity to inform and adjust strategic initiatives.
    • Oversee sales forecasts, budgets, and key performance metrics.
    • Consistently achieve or exceed targeted sales, delivered profit margin, and functional expense goals.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Manage and mentor a team of national account managers.
    • Set clear expectations regarding what success looks like.
    • Set and track performance goals, provide coaching, and support individual development plans.
    • Ensure that processes and support are in place to coach, train, and develop talent.
  • Customer

    Experience:
    • Resolve customer issues promptly and effectively.
    • Ensure long‑term customer satisfaction and retention.
Required Experience You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in national account management, preferably in manufacturing or industrial sales.
Preferred Experience s and Skills
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth and managing large accounts.
  • CPG and Institutional selling and/or marketing experience with market‑leading brands preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, forecast trends, and make strategic decisions.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with supply chain and logistics in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical understanding of manufacturing processes and product development.
  • Ability to influence cross‑functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong problem‑solving and strategic thinking capabilities.
