Clariant is a globally leading specialty chemicals company committed to innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence. We are seeking a Procurement Manager EMEA specializing in chemicals to join our team in Tarragona, Spain.

This isn't just a purchasing role—it's an opportunity to be a strategic negotiator, a relationship builder, and an architect of innovative sourcing solutions across the EMEA region with global impact. Reporting to the Group Function Procurement Category Head for Additives & Absorbents and Global Amines, you'll bridge business needs with market opportunities, collaborate with diverse teams, and directly impact how efficiently and sustainably we source materials for our operations.

Responsibilities
  • Source chemical materials within aligned strategies and negotiate optimal deals
  • Manage contracts and supplier agreements in SAP (Contracts, NDAs, QNS)
  • Identify improvement opportunities through bundling, de‑specification, and demand analysis
  • Drive Procurement Best Practices across your chemicals portfolio
  • Develop and maintain category sourcing strategies for chemical products
  • Research new suppliers and alternative sourcing concepts
  • Monitor market trends, forecast prices, and contribute to monthly reports
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams as the Single Point of Contact for the business segment
  • Drive strategic initiatives and represent procurement in business processes
  • Build and evaluate supplier relationships, implementing performance improvements
  • Support the Key Supplier Management program
  • Implement corporate sustainability initiatives within the supplier base
  • Contribute to supplier assessments and ensure audit‑conforming processes
Requirements
  • Business/Procurement background, ideally complemented with chemical/engineering knowledge
  • 5+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing industry
  • Experience in multicultural environments
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail
  • Fluency in English (additional languages appreciated;
    German is a plus)
  • Proficiency with SAP and digital procurement tools
  • Experience with sourcing of oleochemicals, phosphorous derivatives, fatty amines, or bentonite clay is a strong plus
