The Procurement Manager – Chemicals & Minerals is responsible for leading global sourcing and procurement activities for base chemicals, ensuring secure, sustainable, and cost-effective supply across manufacturing locations. The role focuses on value creation through strategic sourcing, supplier performance management, cost optimization, and risk mitigation, while enabling uninterrupted production through strong cross‑functional collaboration in a complex global environment.
Responsibilities- Lead global sourcing and category management for base chemicals.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives and procurement priorities.
- Negotiate and manage sourcing agreements and supply contracts in line with corporate policies and ethical standards.
- Drive value creation through cost optimization initiatives, including de‑specification, demand bundling, and innovation‑led sourcing.
- Ensure competitive pricing and supplier performance using market intelligence and digital sourcing tools (e.g., e‑RFQs, e‑auctions).
- Monitor supplier performance, supply availability, and risks; lead corrective actions where required.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Planning, Operations, and technical teams to ensure on‑time, in‑full (OTIF) delivery to production sites.
- Support corporate sustainability and responsible sourcing initiatives in partnership with suppliers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Science, or Engineering, with an MBA in Supply Chain or Operations preferred.
- 3–7 years of experience in procurement or supply chain roles within a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably with global exposure. Experience in oleochemicals and/or minerals (e.g., coal, bentonite clays) is an added advantage.
- Strong capabilities in strategic sourcing, negotiation, and contract management, with a focus on value creation and cost optimization.
- Proven experience in supplier performance management, risk mitigation, and market analysis in volatile supply environments.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across cross‑functional and multicultural teams, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical, adaptable, and digitally enabled, with experience using e‑sourcing tools and a commitment to sustainability, ethics, and continuous improvement.
