The Finance Analyst assists in the design and implementation of the company’s comprehensive strategic financial plan.
Tracks financial and productivity performance, and is involved with financial forecasting, development of operating and capital plans, staffing analysis, cost reduction and process improvement strategies.
- Development of the annual operating budget and models used to forecast operating expenditures.
- Coordinates near and long-term planning activities to ensure consistency and compliance with corporate American Airlines action plans.
- Evaluates competitive strategies and industry trends to determine impact on current or contemplated action plans.
- Assists management during labor negotiations by developing and utilizing costing models to determine the financial impact of union and company economic proposals.
- Creates business cases and financial analysis for capital proposals in order to secure capital funding.
- Coordinates annual capital plan process and tracks actual and forecasted capital spending on current/future projects.
- Completes monthly financial close and the review of business expenses.
- Presents results to senior management in a clear and concise manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department and company.
- Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Economics/Accounting.
- Proficient computer skills:
Microsoft Excel. - Ability to speak/read/write in English.
- If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the U.S.
