Responsibilities- Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership procedures; familiarize yourself with the service department and procedures
- Assist Service Advisor in test-driving vehicles and testing components and systems. Learn how to use diagnostic tools and special service equipment
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to inform customers if any additional service is needed, and provide estimates of time required for additional repairs
- Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to identify the problem quickly
- Effective analytical and communication skills
- Good reading, computer, and mathematics skills
- Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications
- Should be able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills
