Accounting Manager, Financial Reporting
Carolina PRG has partnered with an ELITE Industry HQ to help them identify a Corporate Accounting Manager for their fast growing organization. This is a newly created role and is responsible for overseeing key accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing insightful analysis of financial results. This is a privately held company with an EXCEPTIONAL reputation.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with the ability to translate financial data into meaningful business insights for leadership. This individual will play a critical role in preparing financial statements, analyzing P&L performance, and supporting strategic decision-making while leading and developing accounting team members.
Candidates with a public accounting background and active CPA designation are strongly preferred.
Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Accounting & Financial Reporting
Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
Research and document technical accounting matters and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards.
Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes
, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting policies.
Financial Analysis & Business Insights
Analyze P&L performance and financial results
, identifying key trends, risks, and opportunities.Translate complex financial information into clear insights and recommendations for senior leadership.
Partner with cross-functional teams to understand operational drivers impacting financial performance.
Support financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting initiatives.
Corporate Accounting Oversight
Manage general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and balance sheet integrity.
Ensure accurate recording of complex accounting transactions and adjustments.
Support audit processes and coordinate with external auditors and advisors.
Assist with implementation of process improvements and system enhancements.
Leadership & Team Development
Lead, mentor, and develop members of the accounting team.
Establish performance expectations and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with finance leadership to enhance reporting processes and operational efficiency.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
CPA designation required.
5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience
, including public accounting experience (Big 4 or national/regional firm preferred).Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting research.
Experience preparing and analyzing financial statements and P&L performance.
Proven ability to translate financial results into meaningful insights for business leaders.
Experience managing or mentoring accounting staff preferred.
Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
