Accounting Specialist - General Contractor
An Award-Winning General Contractor across the Southeast is looking for a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to support our accounting team and ensure accurate and timely AIA construction billing across multiple active projects.
Key Responsibilities Accounts Receivable- Prepare and submit monthly AIA billing packages in accordance with client and contract requirements.
- Review project contracts to confirm compliance and billing accuracy.
- Maintain current and organized billing records for each project.
- Track and reconcile accounts receivable balances and aging reports.
- Process subcontractor pay applications, verifying completeness and compliance with project documentation requirements.
- Review and enter vendor invoices, ensuring approval routing within the accounting system.
- Address payment inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and keep vendor relationships positive.
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (preferred).
- 1–3 years of accounting or related experience; construction industry background strongly preferred.
- Proven experience with AIA billing formats
, GMP
, and Cost Plus billing processes. - Self-motivated, dependable, and able to collaborate effectively with both project and accounting teams.
