Own Product Costing
- Maintain and improve standard costing processes
- Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs
- Ensure accuracy of BOMs and routing data
Drive Margin & Variance Analysis
- Lead monthly manufacturing variance analysis (labor, materials, overhead)
- Partner with plant leadership to identify root causes and corrective actions
Support Operational Decision-Making
- Develop KPIs tied to production efficiency and profitability
- Assist with pricing analysis and cost modeling
- Support inventory controls and cycle count programs
Strengthen Financial Controls
- Oversee inventory valuation and reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies
- Partner with auditors during year-end review
Improve Systems & Processes
- Identify opportunities to streamline reporting and cost tracking
- Support ERP enhancements or implementations
- Help create scalable processes as the company grows
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of cost accounting experience within manufacturing
- Strong understanding of standard costing and inventory accounting
- Experience working directly with plant operations
- ERP experience required (manufacturing environment strongly preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills
- CPA or CMA is a plus
- Comfortable being on the plant floor — not just behind a desk
- Naturally analytical with strong business acumen
- Direct communicator who can partner with operations leadership
- Process-minded and improvement-focused
- Hands-on and accountable
