Controller, Accounting, Accounting Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced Controller to join the team of one or their largest business segments, with responsibility for overseeing all accounting and financial reporting activities. This role leads the month-end close process, manages a small accounting team, ensures compliance with corporate policies, and partners closely with operations leadership to drive financial performance. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and experienced in a multi‑entity corporate environment.

• Lead the full month‑end close process for the business unit, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strict adherence to corporate deadlines.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and variance analyses, while managing project‑level revenue recognition and ensuring accurate project‑level financial reporting.
• Deliver monthly financial statements and reporting packages that integrate into the consolidated corporate close, ensuring full compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
• Manage, mentor, and develop an accounting team, overseeing daily operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and general ledger management.
• Collaborate with operations leaders to interpret financial results and support decision‑making by providing insights on trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning activities.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure adherence to corporate governance standards.
• Support external audits, internal audits, and compliance reviews, while identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (BS).
• 5+ years of progressive corporate accounting experience, including direct responsibility for month‑end close.
• CPA certification is preferred.
• Experience leading an accounting team.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and multi‑entity corporate structures.
• Experience with hands‑on project accounting.
