Real Estate and Capital Expenditures Accounting Analyst
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Real Estate and Capital Expenditures Accounting Analyst to support the financial operations of our real estate and construction initiatives and other capital expenditures within the Company. The Real Estate Development and Capital Expenditures Accounting Analyst will play a key role in supporting the accounting, tracking, and reporting of construction and property-related activities. This role will partner closely with the Real Estate Development, Accounting, and Treasury teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, efficient processing of invoices, and compliance with all property and lease requirements.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Track all construction invoices in Smartsheet to maintain visibility and control of project spend
- Accurately code and submit construction invoices through AVID in a timely manner
- Prepare and submit a monthly Construction in Progress (CIP) invoice to third parties, summarizing project expenditures
- Partner regularly with Real Estate Development, Accounting, and Treasury to align on financial workflows and reporting
- Assist with ad-hoc projects related to construction cost analysis and expense tracking
- Set up banking services for all new store openings
- Coordinate and establish utility accounts for each new location
- Manage all initial business licenses and registrations required for store operations
- Track and file property tax returns for all applicable locations
- Take ownership of invoice coding for all capital assets and improvements in AVID
- Assist with other property-related duties as needed, ensuring compliance and accuracy across financial systems
- Set up new leases and enter lease modifications into Lease Query
- Ensure lease data integrity and compliance with accounting standards
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in accounting or back-office administration
- 1+ year of experience in real estate or construction accounting
- Proficiency with invoice processing systems (e.g., AVID)
- Strong knowledge of Excel and experience with Smartsheet or similar tools
- High attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy in financial reporting
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
