  • Serve in a client-facing Controller role within the Managed Accounting Services practice, delivering client work at a premium level
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes for multiple clients simultaneously
  • Proactively identify and solve client accounting challenges by developing a deep understanding of each client’s business
  • Lead the monthly close of client books, including assigned journal entries, accruals, balance sheet account reconciliations, and complex accounting items
  • Assist clients with proper transaction recording for revenue recognition (ASC 606), equity, and leases to ensure GAAP compliance
  • Maintain financial records for multiple clients and ensure accurate transaction recording
  • Plan, assign, and review work performed by Bookkeepers to ensure accuracy and provide feedback for improvement
  • Proactively manage project deadlines to align deliverables with client expectations and deadlines
  • Collaborate with Managed Accounting Services and Tax teams on technical matters, project progress, tasks, and associated budgets
  • Review client financial performance monthly and make recommendations for improvement
  • Collaborate with team members to recommend process improvements and KPI/dashboard improvements
  • Assist with internal budgets and internal processes
  • Act as a hands-on, working manager who is willing to roll up their sleeves to ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently
  • Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned
  • Comply with firm policies and procedures, including timesheet submission and attendance policy
Day to Day Responsibilities
  • Develop a detailed close plan for each client and ensure tasks are completed prior to formal review with the Director of Managed Accounting Services
  • Document and perform analysis over cost accounting and other critical areas
  • Properly record revenue and support accurate financial reporting
  • Review other team members’ work for quality and accuracy
  • Assist in implementation of new tools and software
  • Support relationship building and business development activities (approximately 15% of time)
Preferred Experience and Attributes
  • CPA license required
  • Previous work experience as a Controller or similar role
  • In-depth working knowledge and understanding of U.S. GAAP
  • Ability to learn and work in multiple accounting systems
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Advanced level Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Motivated and quick learner with strong communication skills and demonstrated professionalism
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to see projects through to completion
