This position is a remote role supporting the Central and East Coast Client Accounting
As the Accounting Manager, you are primarily responsible for overseeing the day-to-day Property Accounting Department, including managing the accounting activities and workload of your team within a specific portfolio of assigned commercial properties. You will be responsible for meeting and exceeding the Property Management Department and Client expectations related to financial and accounting reporting. During busy times you will roll up your sleeves and work side by side with your team.
You will mentor and develop high-performing property accountants and oversee detailed work while producing high-quality reporting for our clients.
- Have a clear understanding of client reporting requirements by property and of all executed client/manager agreements.
- Hire, manage, supervise, train, and grow property accounting staff; continually monitor staff skill sets against owner accounting requirements.
- Ensure accurate and timely performance and reporting of real estate accounting activities for a national, diversified portfolio of Retail, Office, and Industrial properties.
- Assist staff and property managers in the annual property budget process.
- Oversee the delivery of monthly financial packages to property managers, and address questions related to the monthly packages.
- Onboard new client accounts, including accounting and financial set up.
- Continuously evaluate internal processes to identify opportunities for improvements.
- Develop and sustain a highly engaged team through strong leadership, open communication, and ongoing coaching and mentoring.
- 5+ years of commercial property accounting/real estate industry experience
- 3+ years leading, supervising and developing high-performing teams
- General understanding of computerized accounting systems; MRI experience required
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
- Advanced education in accounting; CPA designation is an asset, not required

Approximate salary Range for this Role: $99,498 - $100,655
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Benefits and bonus- Benefits: Employees and their families have options for employer subsidized medical benefits including dental, vision, employer paid basic life/AD&D insurance and short-term/long-term disability. 401k plan with employer match. Paid time off includes 10 sick days, a minimum of 15 vacation days, 10 holidays, and two personal flex days. Some senior roles are eligible for unlimited time off. Parental leave is available after 90 days of employment.
