Senior Accountant - Hybrid | Distribution Industry | Growth-Oriented Organization
Our client is a well-established and highly respected distribution company that is exceptionally well positioned for continued growth, both organically and through acquisition. As the organization continues to scale, they are adding a Senior Accountant after someone was promoted internally to play a key role in supporting core accounting operations, high-visibility benefit-related accounts, and ongoing process improvement initiatives.
This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys a blend of traditional accounting responsibilities, project work, and exposure to senior leadership, all while gaining hands-on experience with a top-tier ERP implementation.
What You’ll Do- Support the monthly close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and account analysis
- Own and manage highly visible benefit-related accounts, including medical expenses, 401(k), short-term disability, and other employee benefit programs
- Analyze activity within benefit accounts and clearly explain trends, variances, and drivers to executive leadership
- Partner with internal teams on special projects tied to growth and operational improvements
- Play an active role in the implementation and optimization of a new, enterprise-level ERP system
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting as the business continues to evolve
- Serve as a trusted accounting resource to leadership, providing insight, accuracy, and clarity
- High visibility with executive leadership due to ownership of critical benefit-related accounts
- ERP implementation experience with a modern, best-in-class system that is highly marketable
- Hybrid schedule that supports flexibility and work-life balance
- People-focused leadership, with a hiring manager who is invested in training, mentorship, and aligning growth opportunities with the candidate’s interests
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- Experience in general ledger accounting, month-end close, and account reconciliations
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to explain financial activity to non-accounting stakeholders
- Comfort working with sensitive, high-importance accounts where accuracy and discretion matter
- Interest in process improvement, systems, and continuous learning
- ERP experience or exposure is a plus, but not required
- Public accounting or distribution industry experience is helpful, but not mandatory
