Corrections Case Manager – DHS – DCR – Salem Correctional Center & Jail – Harrison Co.

Nature of WorkUnder general supervision, the Corrections Case Manager will function as a member of a team providing services to an assigned caseload of inmates in a correctional facility. The work will focus on overall management of inmates and ensuring their needs are met. May be required to provide individual and/or group counseling. Assist in development and implementation of treatment programs, develop case histories, gather collateral information on placement, treatment and court information on inmates, write reports and recommendations regarding inmate behavior, placement and performance for the circuit courts, control inmate movement, and serve as liaison between inmate and facility, legal representatives, family members, treatment providers and/or court officials.

Minimum Qualifications- Training: Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university with a major in criminal justice, corrections, psychology, sociology, counseling, guidance, criminology, social work or related field.
- Substitution: Experience in corrections programming or treatment may be substituted for required training on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Experience: Two years of full‑time or equivalent part‑time paid experience in inmate counseling, security or treatment in a correctional setting or in counseling, guidance, probation and parole officer, mental health counselor or social worker.
- Substitution: Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice, corrections, social work or related behavioral science field may substitute for required experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
