Operating Room RN First Assist
Location
This position is located in West Virginia.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule / Shift
Day shifts are scheduled as 5x8 hours from 06:45 AM to 05:15 PM, including some weekday and weekend on-call duties.
Job Description
The Operating Room RN First Assist is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to adult patients in the operating room setting. The role involves circulating and scrubbing in surgical procedures, with a focus on pediatric general and women's specialty surgeries. Candidates with robotic surgery experience are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist in surgical procedures by performing tasks such as suturing, clamping, and managing instruments.
- Maintain aseptic technique and adhere to safety protocols within the operating room.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient patient care and optimal surgical outcomes.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to adult patients.
- Handle on-call duties as scheduled, covering both weeknights and weekends.
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, specifically in an operating room setting.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Experience working in a pediatric setting and with robotic surgery is preferred.
- WV or Compact RN License is required; pending licenses are considered.
