Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a diverse MS/Tele unit, requiring a WV or compact license and minimum two years of RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 37-bed Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit in a Level 1 Trauma Center

• Care for adult patients with varying acuity, including post-op transplants and those needing cardiac monitoring

• All beds are telemetry-capable

• Patient ratios are 1:5

• Night shift schedule, 7PM-7AM, with every other weekend required

• Floating required within scope as needed

• Charting is completed in Cerner EMR

• Orientation takes place every other week on Thursday and Friday

• Royal blue or white scrubs required for RNs

• Responsibilities include caring for a broad range of adult patients needing telemetry and post-op transplant care

• Team environment in a major academic teaching hospital

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Free attached parking garage provided for travelers

• Holiday coverage may be required based on unit needs

• Blocked scheduling requests may be accommodated depending on staffing requirements

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license or eligibility to obtain prior to start (pending accepted)

• Minimum of two years RN experience required, with at least one year in MS/Tele specialty

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

• Flu vaccination required during flu season or medical exemption on file

• References from at least two managers or charge nurses within the past two years

• Clean license verification and valid Driver's License and SSN required for consideration

• Local candidates not accepted; must live at least 100 miles from facility unless approved

• Perm employees cannot return as travelers until two years after last day of perm employment
