Responsibilities

Supervises the daily activities of assigned team in providing rehabilitation services.

Minimum Qualifications Education, Certification, and/or Licensure
  • Must possess ONE of the following current licenses as required by state board where services will be provided:
  • Speech Pathologist License
  • Physical Therapist License
  • Occupational Therapist License
Experience
  • Three (3) years of clinical experience.
Preferred Qualifications Education, Certification, and/or Licensure
  • Master’s Degree in rehabilitation field (Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Pathology).
Experience
  • Two (2) years in leadership role
  • One (1) year hospital outpatient therapy or rehabilitation hospital experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Applies research and proven techniques to examine, diagnose, and then prevent or treat conditions that limit the body's functional abilities specific to therapist’s discipline. As much as fifty percent of the job will include direct patient care duties.
  • Contributes to development and execution of the operational budget, both revenue and expense with the financial analyst, manager and director. Reviews and provides feedback related to monthly statistical information and productivity of staff collected by the financial analyst.
  • Provides input into budgeting of and purchasing of capital equipment.
  • Provides feedback and coaching to staff regarding productivity performance.
  • Assists departmental leadership in the monitoring of patient records to ensure adequate clinical documentation and to maximize the functionality of the EMR. Ensures that clinical documentation meets the needs of outside agencies including those receiving patients as well as third party payers.
  • Assists with interviews, onboarding of new staff as well as input for performance reviews.
  • Assists department leadership in developing and monitoring outpatient policy, procedures and personnel manuals for compliance, completeness and updating. Monitors safety and operational standards.
  • Interacts with department leadership to maintain quality standards, new technology to improve efficiency, and ensure completion of department quality goals. Makes recommendations for preparation in planning and implementing change, maintaining and improving high quality patient care, and maintaining the state of the art services that are provided by the outpatient division of the Rehabilitation Services Department.
  • Monitors issues related to the efficient and safe functioning of the outpatient rehabilitation services including the environment and equipment. Facilitates repair of equipment through Healthcare Technology Management and equipment vendors. Coordinates environmental issues with department leadership.
  • Adheres to the established Performance Expectations for WVUH Employees in the areas of People, Service, Performance Improvement, and Shared Values & Culture.
  • Assists departmental leadership in the scheduling, performance review process, hiring, and staff development for clinical and supportive staff of the outpatient division of the Rehabilitation Services Department.
  • Supports the philosophy of the hospital by participating and meeting the goals and objectives of the department and hospital.
