Tolling Market Lead at HDR – Orlando, FL (United States)
This role leads the development and growth of HDR’s tolling services, cultivating and managing relationships with toll agencies worldwide.
Responsibilities- Partner with local area teams to cultivate and manage client relationships with toll agencies across the globe.
- Champion the identification and development of projects and programs for toll facility clients within HDR’s 36 operating areas.
- Enhance and expand HDR’s toll industry services portfolio for existing and prospective clients.
- Deliver key services, including:
- AET conversions for existing facilities.
- Planning and design services covering technology, payment methods, and advisory services.
- Mobility and operational technology services such as ATST, ITS, CAV, tolling system development and operations, managed lanes, ZEM, and OT cybersecurity.
- Advisory services including asset management, right‑of‑way, value engineering, funding, and finance.
- Lead growth and success of tolling services and programs, partnering with business development leaders to:
- Research and share trends and drivers within the tolling market.
- Identify, pursue, and deliver tolling opportunities where HDR can compete.
- Develop client relationships with toll agencies through local area and market sector teams.
- Evaluate and prioritize investments to capture tolling opportunities across regions.
- Collaborate with HDR business group leaders to broaden the range of tolling services offered.
- Provide professional development for staff supporting toll clients.
- Lead HDR’s strategy for industry organization presence and leadership, including IBTTA and related groups.
- Professional Engineer (PE) – Preferred
- Recognized leader in the toll roads/toll facilities space
- Proven ability to set and execute growth strategy for a tolling practice
- Established relationships with major toll clients and DOTs
- Bachelor’s Degree in architecture, engineering, planning, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years industry experience
- Experience developing and managing strategic marketing programs for architecture, engineering, or planning services
- Experience managing a wide range of client relationships and specific program or project pursuits
- Experience in staff development, including recruiting, career path, and professional growth
- Experience with industry associations and maintaining a visible market sector profile
- Ability to work cooperatively with area and business group directors, regional managers, and other leadership groups
- Demonstrated commitment to HDR values and an active participation in our employee‑owned culture
