Join Our Team as a Locum - Physician - Radiology - Diagnostic in Charleston, WV. Are you a skilled Diagnostic Radiologist seeking a locum opportunity? We are seeking an Onsite Radiologist to provide diagnostic imaging services in a hospital setting, utilizing advanced modalities and making a meaningful impact on patient care.
In this role, you will handle a diverse case mix, including XR, CT, MR, US, NM, and fluoroscopy, with an emphasis on infant and pediatric procedures such as barium enemas and BE’s. You will perform light interventional radiology procedures including biopsies (thyroid, lung, bone, liver, renal, CT-guided, US-guided), drainages (paracentesis, thoracentesis, abscess drainages, chest tubes, cysts), lumbar punctures (diagnostic, myelogram), and arthrograms (knee, elbow, hip, ankle, shoulder).
Daily volume expectations are 90-100 cases per 8-hour shift, with an average of 70 wRVUs.
Responsibilities- Provide diagnostic imaging services in a hospital setting across modalities including XR, CT, MR, US, NM, and fluoroscopy.
- Perform infant and pediatric barium enema procedures.
- Conduct light interventional radiology procedures: biopsies (thyroid, lung, bone, liver, renal, CT-guided, US-guided), drainages (paracentesis, thoracentesis, abscess drainages, chest tubes, cysts), lumbar punctures (diagnostic, myelogram), and arthrograms (knee, elbow, hip, ankle, shoulder).
- Manage a high-volume caseload efficiently with strong communication and teamwork.
- Valid medical license in WV or the ability to obtain one.
- Board Certification in Radiology.
- Proficiency in infant and pediatric barium enema procedures.
- Strong skills in diagnostic imaging modalities: XR, CT, MR, US, NM, fluoroscopy.
- Experience in performing interventional procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to handle a high-volume caseload efficiently.
- Subspecialty training in Pediatric Radiology.
- Experience with light IR procedures.
- Knowledge of hospital-based radiology workflows.
- BLS/ACLS certification.
Education and Experience
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of two years of post-residency radiology experience.
- Prior experience working in hospital or clinical settings.
- Ability to start on 02/02/2026.
- Possession of or eligibility for WV medical licensure.
- Willingness to handle a demanding caseload with professionalism.
- Travel and certification reimbursements as applicable.
