Hire Now Staffing is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Superintendent to lead the execution of a high-profile infrastructure project in Charleston, West Virginia. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in the delivery of critical public works bridges, highways, structural concrete, and deep foundations with a company that values precision, performance, and project excellence.
You'll be the central figure on-site, managing crews, vendors, and subcontractors while ensuring safety, quality, and schedule compliance at every stage of construction.
This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in the dirt, someone who has walked miles of rebar, managed complex phasing, and had the scars (and stories) to prove it.
What You’ll Be Responsible For- Lead field execution of bridge and highway projects with a strong focus on earthwork, drainage, structural concrete, and drilled shafts
- Coordinate daily work with subcontractors, field engineers, foremen, and equipment operators
- Manage logistics and site organization, ensuring materials, tools, and equipment are where they need to be when they need to be
- Enforce and model site safety protocols that align with both federal and company standards
- Drive production goals while upholding uncompromising quality in work execution
- Monitor project progress and adapt work plans to stay ahead of schedule constraints
- Maintain clear communication with Project Managers, Field Engineers, and Inspectors to keep the team aligned
- Interpret blueprints and specifications and translate them into actionable field activities
- Conduct daily briefings and site meetings to review plans, address challenges, and assign responsibilities
- Serve as the boots-on-the-ground problem solver for all field issues
- 10+ years of construction experience in heavy civil/infrastructure projects (bridges, highways, or DOT work preferred)
- Experience overseeing full-site operations as a Superintendent or General Foreman on complex transportation projects
- Deep technical knowledge of structural concrete, drilled shafts, and heavy equipment operation
- Strong ability to read and interpret civil drawings, plans, and technical specs
- Natural communicator who can lead teams, resolve conflict, and maintain field discipline
- Skilled at juggling field productivity, safety, and logistics all at once
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred, but not required with extensive experience
- Proficiency with daily reports, scheduling software, and project documentation tools
