Position: TRAFFIC MANAGER with Security Clearance
Duties
* Plans, organizes, supervises, and oversees the activities and employees of the Traffic Management Flight.
* Plans and directs all cargo movement traffic management functions and passenger travel and personal property shipment and storage activities for the installation and DoD assigned area of operation.
* Directs the small air terminal cargo and passenger operations.
* Responsibilities in readiness, mobility, and deployment operations include providing technical direction, and management and evaluation of the transportation, traffic management, and unit movement aspects of the DoD transportation movement program on a worldwide basis.
* Represents the Traffic Management Flight with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Disclosure of Political Appointments
* Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
* Work may occasionally require duty in warehouse or receiving areas
* Work may require travel to commercial carriers in the local vicinity of the installation for the purpose of contract negotiation.
* The employee must be appointed as Transportation Officer or Traffic Management Officer by the Installation Commander as required by the Defense Transportation Regulation 4500.9R.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
* This position is designated as a key position IAW AFI 36-507. Duties of this position are essential to the accomplishment of wartime/contingency operations. (cont. below) * (cont.) Incumbents of key positions must be removed from their military recall status if alternative for filling of the position during an emergency are not available.
* This is a Mission Essential (ME) position performing a Mission Critical Function (MCF) which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions. (cont. below) * (cont.) IAW, DoDI 3020-42, Defense Continuity Programs.
* This is a Centrally Managed Position in the Traffic Management Series Career Field. PCS will be paid in accordance with JTR Vol. 2 and applicable Air Force Regulations.
* This is a Supervisory Position." A 1-year supervisory probationary period is required if applicant selected has not previously met this requirement. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Traffic Management Series 2130. EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes comprehensive knowledge of a wide range of traffic management principles, policies, practices, laws, regulations, techniques, and operations, to include those concerning economics of transportation;
DoD transportation systems, commercial carrier operations and tariffs; hazardous, classified, extraordinary, and sensitive materials; and related areas such as storage, preservation, packaging, and US and foreign customs import/export requirements as these involve air, motor, rail, and water movements. Knowledge of air terminal operations for passenger and cargo transportation including handling of such items as general supplies, pets, household goods, unaccompanied baggage, mobile homes, privately owned firearms/vehicles, human remains, perishables, outsized, and overweight items.
