Sweeper Truck Driver - ST0126

Sanders Brothers Construction Company is seeking a safe and professional Sweeper Truck Operator/Driver to support our Charleston area operations. The role operates a Sweeper Truck providing prompt service to customers on scheduled routes, including new housing developments, local cities and road construction. The truck removes debris such as broken pavement, asphalt and concrete millings, mud and construction materials or highway debris buildup due to seasonal/weather changes.

• Perform required pre- and post-trip inspections on the equipment you operate.
• Review scheduled routes, and ask questions if the route or job is unclear.
• Operate a CDL Broom Sweeper Truck safely.
• Complete assigned jobs within the time allotted while maintaining quality of work.
• Exercise extra caution during inclement weather.
• Report any equipment failures.

• Maintain DOT driving qualifications.
• Availability to work weekends and evenings as needed, which may require more than 40 hours per week but within DOT requirements.
• Work in varying weather conditions and environments (dust, wet conditions, loud noises, etc.).
• Keep company vehicle clean and orderly; inform management of safety concerns or vehicle problems.
• Operate within the Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester Counties region.
• Comply with all SBCC policies, procedures and safety requirements.
• Perform other general duties as specified.

• Must possess a valid Class A or B commercial driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record per SBCC policy.
• Current DOT Medical card.
• Must obtain a negative drug test result prior to hire and maintain throughout employment.
• Must meet SBCC employment standards with regards to background checks.
• Work environments may vary; tolerate weather conditions (rain, extreme temperatures). Exposure to dust, dirt, varying temperatures, loud noises, etc.

• Active, physical work involving lifting (50+ lbs.), carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching; walking, standing, driving and operating equipment for extended periods. Requires focus, depth perception, and healthy vision. Use of safety equipment.
• Regular use of hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.
