Fuel Technician

Role Overview

The Fuel Technician works with TICO company trucks (tankers) and stationary fuel storage facilities to deliver petroleum products to customers at multiple port terminals on a nightly basis. The role requires a professional, safe, and customer‑service‑oriented approach to all operations.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver petroleum products to customers at multiple port terminals on a nightly basis using trucking and storage equipment.
  • Exhibit a professional, safe, and customer‑service‑oriented approach to all aspects of the operation.
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of tanker trucks and supporting equipment such as pumps, hoses, nozzles, and mobile tanker plumbing through hands‑on training.
  • Perform accurate accounting and reporting of delivered fuel using mobile devices and paperwork.
  • Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections and report any equipment deficiencies to supervisors or management promptly.
  • Respond quickly to fuel or fluid spills to initiate containment and cleanup per company guidelines.
  • Maintain TICO equipment and work areas so that they are clean and organized.
  • Perform additional operations duties as requested by supervisors or managers.
  • Work independently or as part of a team as required.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining accuracy and delivering fuel within allotted time frames.
  • Consistently stand, bend, kneel, climb on and off elevated surfaces, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Use basic hand tools to perform routine repairs or maintenance on equipment.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Demonstrate reliability, safety, and positive teamwork through proper attendance and conduct.
  • Be available to work the night shift (9:00 pm–5:00 am).
Preferred Qualifications
  • TWIC card in possession.
  • Class A or B CDL with tanker/Hazmat endorsement (plus).
  • Experience in fueling/petroleum field.
  • Strong leadership skills.
Required Qualifications
  • Clean motor vehicle record.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC card.
