Repair and Tool Technician

Overview

Repair and Tool Technician role at The Home Depot. Responsibilities include the evaluation and repair of small engines, outdoor power equipment and handheld electrical devices, equipment recommendations, and ensuring units are maintained. Technicians work in stores with Tool Rental Centers and in repair centers.

• Evaluate and repair small engines, outdoor power equipment and handheld electrical devices.
• Provide equipment recommendations and ensure that units are maintained.
• Operate in both stores with Tool Rental Centers and in repair centers.
• In-store duties: service Tool Rental customers, write customer contracts and invoices for equipment rental and tool repairs, check that tools are operating properly, and demonstrate proper use as needed.
• Maintain day-to-day operation and maintenance of equipment in the tool rental department.
• In non-store locations: ensure units are repaired, tested for quality of repair and cleaned prior to returning to the originating store.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of all tools and effectively manage the tool inventory by maintaining and repairing tools as necessary.
