Resident Field Crane Technician - Charleston, SC
Join MGX Equipment Services as a Resident Field Crane Technician in Charleston, SC. This full‑time role involves inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mobile cranes and boom trucks.
Job DescriptionWe employ dedicated technicians to maintain our heavy‑lift fleet. The role requires independent problem solving, strict adherence to safety, and exceptional customer service.
- Diagnose, repair, and troubleshoot various mobile hydraulic and lattice cranes.
- Perform thorough and accurate annual inspections.
- Complete working reports, hours reports, time sheets, and expense reports.
- Provide excellent customer service and support to field crews.
- Other duties as assigned, including travel and training.
- High School Diploma or GED with at least two (2) years of experience as a Crane Mechanic/Technician.
- Experience with mobile cranes such as Grove RT & TMS, Grove GMK, Manitowoc EPIC, or National Boom Trucks.
- Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time for job sites and training.
- Excellent communication and customer‑focus skills.
- Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Perform job functions in a safe manner.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Follow established safety procedures and participate in training.
- Report safety concerns and suggestions to management.
- $4,500 sign‑on bonus after 90 days continuous service.
- Tool reimbursement program up to $1,500 per calendar year.

Working ConditionsThis full‑time position runs 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, with occasional overtime and weekend work. The role involves exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, loud noise, and lifting up to 40 lbs. Reasonable accommodations are available for disabilities.
