Sanders Brothers Construction Company is currently looking to hire full time support in our Utilities Department.

The Utilities Laborer will be responsible for supporting Utilities crews during the installation of underground water, sewer and drainage pipeline.

• Follow directions of the utility foreman and utility equipment operators.
• Work within confined spaces (after required training) at varying depths.
• Assist with the installation of trench boxes.
• Assist utilities brick mason as needed.
• Assist with the placement of ductile, concrete and steel piping.
• Assist during utility pipe repairs.
• Work in varying weather conditions and work environments including dusty, wet, loud noises, etc.
• Keep company vehicle, tools, and equipment clean and orderly, informing management of any safety concerns.
• Comply with all SBCC policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Perform any other general duties as specified.

• 0-1 years experience assisting in utility installation.
• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Based on duties, may be required to obtain DOT medical certification.
• Must obtain a negative drug test result prior to hire and maintain throughout term of employment.
• Must meet SBCC's employment standards with regards to background checks.
• Must have the ability to stand, crawl, and kneel for long periods of time.
• Work environments will vary making it necessary to tolerate weather conditions, such as rain and extreme temperatures. Employees may be exposed to dust, dirt, varying temperatures, loud noise, etc.
• Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 40 pounds of force regularly to move objects.
• Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds.
• Must have ability to work overtime, weekends and nights as needed.

• Hold valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record by complying with standards established by SBCC policy.
• Ability to work and climb ladders which includes understanding of ladder safety and inspection.
