The Sales Account Manager is responsible for business growth in current and emerging markets. This will include DOE, DOD, radiopharmaceuticals, Nuclear Power (NP), nuclear waste management, local heavy industry, engineering firms, and municipal clients. The Sales Account Manager will be responsible for:
- Developing and executing business development strategies, account plans, and sales forecasts
- Identifying, qualifying, and pursuing new sales opportunities within prime contractors, subcontractors, and designated market sector clients
- Managing and expanding existing client accounts through proactive relationship management and solution-oriented selling
- Representing GEL at related conferences, workshops, and industry meetings
- Meeting or exceeding annual revenue and account growth targets (book of business starting in the $2M - $4M range with growth potential of over $10M)
- Serving as a subject matter liaison between clients and GEL project management, laboratory operations, and technical staff
- Leading proposal preparation, RFP responses, and pricing strategy in coordination with our Proposal and Contracts Group
- Tracking federal contract vehicles, procurement forecasts, and budget priorities to align GEL services with market opportunities

Qualifications for a Sales Account Manager:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, chemistry, engineering, business, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales, account management, business development or project management in the environmental testing, radiopharmaceutical, engineering, nuclear industry, laboratory analysis, or federal contracting space
- Demonstrated success in growing revenue and managing key accounts in complex government markets
- Strong knowledge of federal organizations, contractors, procurement cycles, and compliance requirements
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Ability to develop long‑term relationships with technical and procurement professionals
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software
- Anticipated to travel overnight at least 25% of the month
- Working knowledge of environmental testing services (chemistry, radiochemistry, bioassay, and related analytical methods)
- Understanding of federal contracting regulations (FAR, acquisition regulations)
- Ability to analyze RFPs and prepare competitive proposals
- Skilled in financial analysis of pricing and contract terms
