As a Sales Solutions Generalist you’ll provide each customer with the best experience possible by helping them find and purchase animals, supplies and services. You’ll discuss the needs of the guest and their pet(s) to provide solutions for today and the future, and connect them with a Specialist when appropriate. You’ll work the cash register and ensure that our merchandise is properly stocked and priced, delivering an excellent experience for each guest.

• Provide a great experience by engaging with guests using your acquired skills and training.
• Assist guests in the proper selection of merchandise in accordance with their identified needs.
• Demonstrate a high level of interest in the welfare, health, and proper handling of all animals.
• Process transactions in a way that creates a great experience for each guest.
• Generate future business through a deep understanding of the guests and their pet(s).
• Perform related duties in support of the Pet Care Center attaining its assigned sales goals.
• Ensure merchandise is stocked, priced, and displayed to create a great presentation for our guests.
• Complete training programs to maintain a high level of expertise in their role.
• Adhere to established operational guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Promote a positive culture of teamwork, inclusion, and collaboration.
• Complete other duties and special projects as assigned.
• Evaluate guest inquiries and refer to the Leader on Duty as needed.

Ability to work successfully within a team. A professional appearance and demeanor, a genuine interest in animals and their care, and good interpersonal and verbal communication skills for interactions with the public, partners and store leadership.

Prior experience in sales, retail, or a related field. Knowledge of pet nutrition and aptitude for sales techniques.

Most duties are indoors, with some stock receiving or merchandising activities requiring time outside the store. May involve bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 lbs, and pulling up to 2000 lbs with material handling equipment. Follow all safety precautions and procedures. Availability for shifts in evenings, weekends, some overnights and holidays.
