Server Restaurant​/Banquets

Overview

The Hilton Garden Inn Charleston Waterfront is now hiring morning shift Servers to join our wonderful team. These positions are available for the breakfast shift (early morning hours, finished mid-morning), and we have shifts available 7 days a week (weekends will be required). The rate of pay for this position is $14.00 per hour plus tips. Additional benefits include paid time off, a quarterly bonus plan, 401k with employer match and we are now offering the option of being paid daily through Daily Pay!

The Server offers prompt and courteous service, so the guests have an enjoyable experience. This position also maintains the cleanliness and guest ready appearance of outlet.

• One year experience in food and beverage position preferred.
• Experience with chain food and retail outlet preferred.

Knowledge:

• Age requirements and verify those who order any alcoholic beverages.
• Menu items, preparation methods and beverage choices.
• Standards of operation as required by brand.
• Area shopping, dining, entertainment and travel directions to assist guest inquiries.
• Daily hotel operations check daily events, bulletin boards and are up to date on changes, new procedures and events.
• Entire property, staff, services, hours of operation, type of rooms, locations, rates, discounts.

Skills:

• Service minded, friendly professional behavior. Welcoming and personable.
• Computer literate to thoroughly operate property management system: post charges, compute bills, collect payment and make change.
• Sell, suggest and serve quality food and beverage items as per standards.

Abilities:

• Multi task, remain associate and guest service centric.
• Effectively communicate with guests and associates.
• Solve guest issues with professionalism and maintain a hospitable attitude.
• Market and promote to increase exposure and sales.
• Work as a team member in aspects such as: cleaning, side work, food preparation and storage.

• This position requires a physical presence at the hotel and is not conducive of telecommuting or remote work.
• Standing, walking for long periods of time while maintaining a friendly professional image.
• May be required to work any day/shift, including weekends.
