Barista; Part Time

Makes and serves coffee/espresso drinks and related food and beverage items. Handles food according to HACCP guidelines and standards for quality food‑service operations. Interacts with customers and other employees in a friendly, courteous manner.

• Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes.
• Enter orders accurately into POS device; accept cash and charge payments.
• Replenish condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of the service area.
• Ensure proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures; follow HACCP standards.
• Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils.
• Ensure proper food preparation by using approved recipes and following prescribed production standards.
• Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
• Clean equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments.
• Greet customers courteously and interact to ensure customer satisfaction. Relays relevant concerns from customers to supervisors.
• Serve customers quickly and efficiently, preventing delays in serving lines.
• Demonstrate a complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explain them to customers.
• Advise customers on selling techniques, establishing good communication and assisting in the buying decision‑making process.
• Ensure all display foods are merchandised attractively per standards. Serve food neatly and attractively per standard.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule:

Part‑time; days may vary, 6:30 am to 12:00 pm and 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm. More details will be discussed during the interview.
Pay Range: $17.00–$18.00 per hour.

Preferred:
Six months of prior barista experience. Must be able to perform essential functions with or without a reasonable accommodation. Applicants must be available to work varied shifts.
