Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg float pool night shift position requiring a SC or compact RN license and BLS certification.
Responsibilities- Work in the Medical Surgical Float Pool at a large teaching hospital
- Float between med/surg floors at the main hospital and an additional tower
- Patient ratios may vary depending on the assigned unit
- Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Minimum of 3-4 weekend shifts required per schedule
- Holiday rotation is required
- EMR system used is Epic
- RNs will provide care across a variety of medical-surgical units based on facility needs
- Solid royal blue or white top with royal blue bottoms scrub attire required
- Participation in emergency response teams may be required during hurricane season from June to November
- Pre-start completion of onboarding modules is required
- Block scheduling may be requested but requires managerial approval
- Non-holiday requested time off (RTO) of up to 7 days may be approved automatically; extended or holiday RTO requires additional review
- Parking available with a one-time registration fee; additional parking fees may apply if parking outside designated garage
- Active South Carolina or compact RN license (license in hand strongly preferred, pending may be considered with proof of application)
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience required
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Previous permanent or PRN staff at the facility must have a minimum 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
- Must provide SSN and driver's license for consideration
- Candidates residing within 60 miles may be considered at a local rate
