This position is primarily based in the Adult and Pediatric Allergy area of the Specialty Clinics at MUSC Health West. The team members (RNs, LPNs and Medical Assistants) work alongside the providers of each specialty to care for their patients.
Duties include rooming patients, taking vitals and health history, documenting in an electronic medical record, returning patient messages, giving injections and assisting with minor procedures. We work in a fast-paced environment, but we also know how to have fun on the job.
Scheduled Work Hours/Shift: This position has the option to be either 4-10’s (7am-5:30pm) or 5-8’s (8am-4:30pm) Monday through Friday. No weekends or holidays and free on-site parking. Join this wonderful team!
Responsible for providing quality nursing care while maintaining accountability for the coordination of patient care.
Responsibilities- Provide nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation).
- Direct and lead other assigned team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice.
- Deliver patient/family centered care addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs.
- Conduct assessment, develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan and implement interventions, coordinate care, and evaluate goals and interventions consistent with MUSC policies.
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment, ensuring patient privacy and professional, respectful behavior.
- Participate in a professional practice model, including shared governance, adherence to standards of care, peer review, professional development, leadership, autonomous practice, and accountability for actions and critical thinking.
- Coordinate effective and efficient delivery of patient care services through care management principles; identify clinical priorities and initiate actions to improve patient outcomes.
- Required Minimum Training and
Education:
Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or Nursing License Compact. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. One year of nursing experience required. - Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations:
Current South Carolina RN License or multi-state Nursing License Compact and BLS required.
Continuous ability to stand, walk, and sit; bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach in all directions; use hands and fingers with dexterity; perform repetitive motions; maintain ability to qualify physically for respirator use as required; 20/40 vision corrected; work in a latex-safe environment; lift, push, pull, and carry objects up to 50 lbs unassisted; lift from 36 inches to overhead 25 lbs;
and work in dusty or confined spaces as needed.
