Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for an ambulatory OR setting requiring at least 2 years of perioperative experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Ambulatory Operating Room setting with 9 ORs

• Day shifts available: choice of 3x12s (6:30 am - 7:00 pm) or 4x10s (6:30 am - 5:00 pm)

• One late shift per four weeks may be required to complete cases

• No weekend or on-call requirements

• May float within Perioperative department as needed

• Uses Epic EMR system

• Primary responsibility is circulating or scrubbing for OR cases in an ambulatory setting

• May be required to precept a care team member in the OR

• All required online modules must be completed before start and are non-billable

• Availability during hurricane season (June–November) may include assignment to emergency response teams

• Block scheduling requests may be considered based on management discretion

• All requested time off (RTO) must be declared prior to offer and is subject to approval

• Orientation and training provided prior to start

• First-time travelers are not accepted

Requirements

• Active South Carolina or compact RN license required

• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

• Minimum 2 years recent Operating Room RN experience required

• Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, ENT, GYN, GU, Endocrine, or Surgical Oncology OR experience preferred

• Radiation badge required

• Social Security Number and Driver’s License required for consideration

• Previous permanent staff (including PRN) must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler

• Epic EMR experience preferred

• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel compensation; local candidates considered at a reduced rate
