Position: Registered Nurse II-Health- Cardio Vascular Surgery (Hybrid)

Job Description Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and clinically skilled In-Basket Nurse to support our cardiology practice through a 40‑hour hybrid schedule, combining both remote and in‑person work. This role is integral to maintaining efficient communication, ensuring timely patient follow‑up, and supporting high‑quality cardiovascular care in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage cardiac symptom calls such as chest discomfort, palpitations, edema, and medication side effects.
  • Process cardiology medication refill requests.
  • Respond to patient advice inquiries.
  • Coordinate prior authorizations for cardiac diagnostics, imaging, and specialty medications.
  • Support care coordination and streamline transitions of care after cardiac testing, procedures, and hospitalizations.
  • Ensure patients receive appropriate follow‑up.

Job Summary / Purpose

Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse provides individualized, goal‑directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.

Minimum Training and Education

Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred. RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date. Refer to policy A141 for more details. A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required.

Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer.
