** Job Description Summary
** This full-time, thirteen-month clinical position is designed for board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP-BC) within the MUSC College of Nursing Psychiatric Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Technology Enhanced Residency (PARTNER). PARTNER is designed for newly graduated PMHNPs to advance beyond their graduate academic training and develop expertise in integrated primary care behavioral health for children, adolescents, and adults, focusing on rural and underserved communities in South Carolina.
Services are provided in-person and through telehealth, utilizing synchronous video platforms and an e-consult system.
The thirteen-month residency (starting July 1st) is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position to build advanced competence and confidence in providing integrated primary care behavioral health across the lifespan. The program supports PMHNPs in developing advanced clinical decision-making skills for assessing, diagnosing, and managing acute and chronic mental illnesses through psychopharmacological treatment and psychotherapy modalities. The PMHNPs will gain proficiency in managing psychiatric patients within primary care settings.
PARTNER comprises 80% clinical practice and 20% education and professional administrative activities. This structure enables PMHNPs to build proficiency in direct patient care and time management while enhancing their knowledge and skills beyond graduate-level training. The program includes opportunities for one-on-one clinical mentorship, participation in case reviews, and engagement in small group learning, all designed to support the development of expertise in integrated primary care behavioral health.
