Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position, requiring a SC or compact license and BLS certification.

• Position is based in a hospital setting with floating required between main hospital units and Ashley River Tower
• Night shifts with a 3x12 hour schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Expected to work 3-4 weekend shifts per schedule and participate in a holiday rotation
• Patient ratios may vary depending on unit assignment
• Uses Epic EMR system
• No on-call requirements
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Prior permanent (including PRN) staff must be separated from the health system for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Must wear solid royal blue or white top with royal blue bottoms as scrub attire
• Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June to November)
• Modules to be completed pre-start as part of orientation (average 4 hours)
• Holiday coverage is required as part of the rotation
• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius considered at a reduced local rate and require HR approval
• Block scheduling may be requested but requires manager approval

• Active South Carolina or compact RN license required; pending license may be considered with documentation
• American Heart Association BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience
• Willingness to float between multiple Med/Surg units as needed
• Must provide Social Security Number and Driver's License for consideration
