Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring a SC or compact RN license and at least two years of PICU experience.

• Work in a 28-bed Pediatric ICU providing intensive and intermediate care for children ages 0-18
• Patients present with medical and surgical diagnoses including respiratory compromise, trauma, neurosurgery, and post-operative needs
• Care provided includes ventilatory and cardiac support, ECMO, CRRT, and various dialysis therapies
• Ratios vary from 1:1 to 1:3 depending on acuity (ICU and Stepdown patients)
• Three 12-hour shifts per week with rotating schedule: 2 months days (7a-7:30p), 1 month nights (7p-7:30a)
• Weekend shifts required: 4 per schedule for days and up to 5 for nights
• Floating within scope may be required based on facility needs
• Care is delivered in a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet designated facility
• Electronic charting with EPIC
• First-time travelers will be considered
• All RTO must be submitted at time of application; approval depends on unit needs and schedule
• Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; locals may be considered at a different rate
• Orientation modules are completed prior to start
• Role includes collaboration with a multidisciplinary team including Patient Care Technicians, Respiratory Therapists, Pediatric Dietitians, and Pediatric Pharmacists
• Staff may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-Nov); flexibility required
• Scrub color requirements not specified
• Previous employees must have separated from the health system for at least one year to be eligible

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years' PICU nursing experience
• Certifications required: BLS and PALS from the American Heart Association
• Experience with ECMO and CRRT preferred
• Must provide SSN and valid Driver’s License for consideration
