Registered Nurse I (Spring 2026 New Grad Blitz) – ART PACU
Join MUSC Health as a Registered Nurse I in the ART PACU located on the fourth floor of the Ashley River Tower. The unit is a 12‑bed postoperative care area that serves a diverse adult outpatient and inpatient surgical population, including general, plastic, oncology, cardiac, interventional cardiology, thoracic, vascular, colorectal, bariatric, and robotic surgery. The PACU operates 24/7 with an exception for Sunday night and provides advanced peri‑operative care, including enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols, pain management, respiratory support, and hemodynamic stability.
Responsibilities- Assist at the advanced‑beginner level in providing individualized, goal‑directed nursing care to patients and families, utilizing the nursing process.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to achieve desired patient outcomes.
- Document patient status, interventions, and responses accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Follow unit protocols for postoperative monitoring, pain management, and early mobilization.
- Participate in 3–12 hour shifts as scheduled, with availability for on‑call call teams during weekdays and weekends.
- Adhere to safety and infection‑control practices, including use of personal protective equipment and safe handling of hazardous materials.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred) or Associate/Diploma with completion of an accredited BSN program within three years of RN licensure.
- Registered Nursing license issued by the State of South Carolina or a compact state; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a high‑acuity environment.
- Physical stamina to stand, sit, walk, and lift up to 50 lb. as required by the role.
