Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool night position requiring a SC or compact RN license and at least 2 years of experience.

• Position is based in a hospital setting as part of the Med/Surg Float Pool
• Works 3x12 hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM each week
• Must be available to work a minimum of 3-4 weekend shifts per schedule
• Holiday rotation is required
• No on-call is required
• Floating required to med/surg floors in the main hospital and Ashley River Tower
• Patient ratios vary by assigned unit
• Uses EPIC EMR system
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Block scheduling may be requested but requires management approval and is not guaranteed
• Candidates living within 60 miles are considered locals and may be offered at a local rate on a case-by-case basis
• Scrub attire required: solid royal blue or white top with royal blue bottoms
• Pre-start completion of facility-provided onboarding modules is required
• Work at a Level I Trauma Center, teaching and Magnet-designated hospital
• During hurricane season (June-November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams

• Active South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license required and must be in hand before starting
• At least 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• SSN and driver’s license required for consideration
• Previous permanent or PRN staff must have a one-year separation before return as a traveler
