Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position with night shifts and South Carolina or compact licensure required.
Responsibilities- Hospital-based position in a Level I Trauma Center, teaching facility, and Magnet hospital
- Floats to Med/Surg units across the main hospital and Ashley River Tower
- Works 3x12hr night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am for a total of 36 hours per week
- Required to work every other weekend
- Holiday rotation is required
- Patient ratios may vary based on unit assignment
- Uses EPIC for charting; EPIC experience preferred
- No on-call responsibilities
- Responsibilities include providing nursing care to a diverse adult Med/Surg patient population on various units as assigned
- May request block scheduling with management approval based on unit needs
- Scrub attire must be solid royal blue or a white top with royal blue bottoms
- All staff may be assigned emergency response duties during hurricane season (June-November)
- Must obtain parking permit for designated staff parking at their own expense
- Module-based training completed prior to start
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Local candidates within 60 miles are considered on a case-by-case basis
- Time off requests of 7 days or fewer of non-holiday RTO may be auto approved; more or including holidays require facility approval
- Active South Carolina RN license or compact state RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years Med/Surg RN experience required
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- Social Security number and driver's license required for consideration
- Previous permanent staff, including PRN, must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
