Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) Jobs – Night Shift Float Pool in Charleston, SC

• Location: Charleston, SC 29425 (South Carolina nursing jobs)
• Facility Type: Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Hospital, Magnet Hospital
• Unit: Med/Surg Float Pool (Main Hospital & Ashley River Tower)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/15/2025 – End: 3/16/2026)
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:30), 36 hours/week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Rotation: Required
• Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1420 - $1530
• Charting System: EPIC
• Scrub Color: Royal Blue or White top with Royal Blue bottoms
• Parking: On-site garage (minimal registration fee)

• Active South Carolina RN License or Multi-State/Compact State Registered Nurse License
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience
• BLS certification required
• Proficient in isolation precautions, oxygen administration, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, peripheral line care, IV initiation and maintenance, and rapid response/code team protocols
• Ability to float between medical-surgical units as assigned
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Willingness to participate in emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November)

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in multiple Med/Surg units
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform routine and specialized nursing procedures
• Monitor patient status and respond promptly to changes in condition, utilizing rapid response/code teams
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC electronic health records
• Follow infection control and safety protocols
• Offer compassionate support to patients and families
• Participate in unit meetings, training, and ongoing professional development
