Wine and Spirits Trade Marketing Associate
We are looking for an entrepreneurial, creative Trade Marketing Associate to join our team in Charleston, SC!
The Wine and Spirits Trade Marketing Associate is responsible for translating portfolio and brand strategy into effective, scalable trade programs that drive sell-in, sell-through, and velocity across on-premise and off-premise channels.
This role serves as the critical bridge between Marketing and Sales, ensuring brand initiatives are executed consistently and effectively in market, while enabling the sales team with the tools, programs, and activation support needed to win.
The Trade Marketing Associate does not own brand strategy or creative concepting, but instead owns program execution, distributor enablement, and activation performance. They are focused on developing initiatives that enhance visibility at the point of purchase.
Responsibilities- Oversee multiple promotions, including sponsor ships, partnerships, point-of-sale (POS) production, agency coordination, and event venue management.
- Work closely with Senior Brand Managers to align programs with brand objectives and translate brand strategy into tactical guidelines for both the on & off premise channels
- Lead and support the creation of regional promotions that address market gaps and meet the unique needs of key customers
- Work in tandem with Chain directors to ensure that placements
- Manage and direct the couponing strategy using data to develop competitive program using various instant-redeemable and mail-in offers. Work with brand team to develop annual couponing calendar.
- Work in tandem with Chain directors to ensure that authorized placements are filled across approved locations.
- Track and manage spend and ROI of regional or customer trade marketing activities and communicate results and insights to leadership.
- Works with the brand team to develop distributor facing toolkits that will include materials for the distributor’s sales teams with program overviews, activation guides, placement standards and execution timelines for top priority brands.
- Monitor, report, and manage the effectiveness of the program items.
- Acts as the liaison with the sales representative to manage in-market needs, including trade events and sponsor ships.
- Contribute to the development of creative marketing ideas and strategic initiatives, including researching and presenting concepts related to packaging doctrine, emerging technologies, merchandising solutions and other brand-building initiatives in collaboration with the broader marketing team.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Experience
- 0-5+ years’ experience in marketing, sales, promotion development, or within the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industry.
- Experience working within the beverage alcohol & three-tier system is a plus, but not required
- Experience with Canva, DAM systems, Power BI/Tableau, Nielsen/IRI data is a plus but not required
- Skilled in proactively communicating relevant project information and status updates to team and management
- Capable of independently and proactively executing multiple projects simultaneously within tight deadlines
- Accountable for setting own work direction toward specific objectives
- Ability to presents and explain ideas to creative manager and marketing department in a confident manner
- Ability to take initiative and collaborate
- Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Candidate must be based in Charleston, SC area
- This role is full time in office.

- Some travel, both domestic and international travel, (including air travel), to worksites, meeting sites, and other locations may be necessary
