Job Title:
Welder and Fabricator
Pay: $26/hr
Contract Duration: 1 year
Shift: 2nd (working 15+hrs of OT/week)
Per-Diem: $150/day
Job DescriptionJoin our team as a Welder and Fabricator, where you will be responsible for joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weldable materials using appropriate welding techniques. You will interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine the most suitable welding process and ensure the structural soundness of completed welds. This role involves welding and fitting various large structural steel components for NAVSEA-related equipment.
Responsibilities- Join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable materials using appropriate welding techniques.
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine the appropriate welding process.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure structural soundness.
- Weld and fit various large structural steel components for NAVSEA-related equipment.
- Proficiency in using tape measures, fitting, Flux core, pulse, MIG pulse, and squares.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols with 3-5+ years of experience.
- 3-5+ years of experience in structural fitting and welding.
- 3-5+ years of experience in both flux core welding and pulse welding.
- 3-5+ years of experience in converting fractions to decimals to 1/16th and/or 1/32nd from tape measures.
Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in shipyards and other related fields fabricating and welding large steel components for NAVSEA-related equipment.
This is a Contract position based out of Charleston, SC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
