Specialized ExperienceYou qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:
- Develop original course plans and designs for basic and advance course concepts.
- Assess program or course curriculum, content, and instructional materials to coordinate the development of course products.
- Supervise and evaluate students enrolled in resident and nonresident training programs.
- Review and analyze enforcement training program planning for effectiveness and integration with agency plans.
- Modify training program curriculum and submit course revision recommendations for review and use.
- Planning and Evaluating – Organizes work, sets priorities, determines resource requirements, coordinates with other organizations, monitors progress, and evaluates outcomes.
- Teaching Others – Helps others learn through formal or informal methods, identifies training needs, provides constructive feedback, coaches others, and mentors.
- Problem Solving – Identifies problems, determines accuracy and relevance of information, uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and makes recommendations.
- Manages and Organizes Information – Identifies a need, gathers, organizes, and maintains information, determines its importance and accuracy, and communicates it by a variety of methods.
- Leadership – Motivates, encourages, and guides others toward accomplishing goals; coaches, mentors; adapts leadership style to a variety of situations.
- Decision Making – Makes sound, well-informed, and objective decisions; perceives the impact and implications of decisions; commits to action, even in uncertain situations, to accomplish organizational goals.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
