The Information Technology Director (IT Director) provides executive leadership, strategic vision, and operational oversight for all information technology functions supporting the South Carolina State Housing Finance & Development Authority (SC Housing). The IT Director ensures that technology systems and services enable the secure, efficient, and mission-aligned delivery of affordable housing programs and agency operations. This position works in close partnership with the Executive Director, program leadership, finance, compliance, federal partners, and external vendors to modernize technology platforms, strengthen cybersecurity, enhance data interoperability, and advance outcome-driven program delivery.
The IT Director is responsible for ensuring alignment with statewide IT standards and governance requirements, overseeing shared services provided through the Department of Administration, and fostering a strong customer-focused culture within the IT division. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the IT Director contributes to both long-range and operational strategic planning for the agency, including leadership in technology modernization, digital transformation, cybersecurity strategy, data governance, enterprise architecture, and IT budget development—ensuring technology investments effectively support SC Housing’s mission to create and preserve affordable housing opportunities across South Carolina.

Agency Minimum Qualifications*
- A bachelor’s degree in information technology, information systems, computer science, or a related field, and a minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in information technology, information security, enterprise systems, or digital services, including experience with contract and vendor management. At least seven (7) years of this experience must include leadership responsibilities encompassing strategic planning, budgeting, staff supervision, and resource management within an IT environment.
- Candidates must specifically meet the Agency Minimum Requirements or an equivalent combination of education and experience to be considered for this position.

- Demonstrated strong leadership and organizational capabilities, with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and complex initiatives. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to clearly convey technical concepts to diverse audiences. Proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships and establish trust with staff, end users, executive leadership, and external vendors. Demonstrated ability to prioritize, plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the work of technical personnel.
