Overview
Position: Secret Dev Ops Engineer
Location: Charleston, SC - HYBRID AFTER 3 MONTHS
Length: Ongoing Contract
Rate: $105,000 - $130,000
(Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education)
Required Skills- 3+ years of technical experience in a Dev Ops Engineering role or similar overseeing complex IT infrastructure
- Advanced level of expertise in Ansible scripting and the ability to generate scripts, playbooks, and roles from scratch to automate processes and update systems
- An Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II Certification
- Secret level Security Clearance or higher
- Working knowledge and experience with Agile framework and Scrum
- Experience with AWS EC2 and S3 building virtual instances and utilizing cloud storage
- Experience managing all components of CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with cloud tools:
Terraform, Cloud Formation, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, etc. - Ability to create and test virtualized environments (VMWare, Open Shift, Hyper-V, AWS, Azure)
- Expertise working in environments with Microsoft operating systems and AWS cloud based systems
- Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience with:
Ansible development (Inventories, Collections, Roles, Modules, Playbooks, etc.) - Ansible Automation Platform
- VMware virtual infrastructure
- Programming/scripting languages (Bash/Python/HTML/etc)
- Open Shift Virtualization Environments
- Git, Git Lab, Git Lab Pipelines, Artifactory, Confluence and Jira
- Integrated development environment (IDE, Visual Studio Code) for GIT management and code revision
- Certifications:
Scrum/Agile, any Microsoft certifications, CISSP, SANS, or ITIL
Insight Global is hiring a Dev Ops Engineer with a Secret security clearance to join a leading government contractor supporting a program advancing communications and technology for America’s warfighters. This role is primarily focused on writing advanced Ansible scripts to transition the existing automation infrastructure from Power Shell to Ansible. Your responsibilities will be heavily focused on developing Ansible roles, playbooks, and scripts and automating deployments and tasks across a hybrid infrastructure with both Microsoft systems and AWS cloud based technology.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide advanced Ansible scripting capabilities to provide Automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) support services
- Write playbooks for use in and administer Ansible Automation Platform
- Be responsible for cloud infrastructure, automating and streamlining operations, and building and maintaining tools for deployment
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless integration and deployment
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize workflows and enhance software delivery
- Troubleshooting/resolving issues in development, test, and production environments
- Monitor and support projects maintained by external teams for alignment to standards, best practices, and issue resolution
- Provide code reviews
- Review pull requests submitted by various teams for logical or syntax issues
- Research new technologies to support enterprise automation solutions
- Investigate and resolve complex issues that span multiple applications/technologies and require involvement from technical personnel across multiple groups
- Verify documentation is easy to understand for both internal and external teams with varying skillsets and expertise
