Ventek Solutions, headquartered on Daniel Island in Charleston, South Carolina, is a newly established entity following its acquisition by Black Diamond Capital Management (BDCM) from Sonoco Corporation. Ventek operates across 9 manufacturing facilities located in the US and Mexico.

Our Mission is to be the premier foam molder and integrated solutions provider in North America, serving a wide range of markets with molded foam components and protective packaging, including returnable and integrated material solutions.

Ventek Solutions seeks an IT Director to lead and oversee all IT-related matters. This critical role involves transitioning Ventek as a stand‑alone entity and implementing a robust IT strategy to support the company’s strategic goals.

The best candidate for this role will have a well‑rounded IT background, strong willingness and ability to be a working leader, engages and seeks to understand the needs of the business and values building strong partnerships within the Ventek team.

This position will report to the Chief Financial Officer.
Local candidates to Charleston, SC area are preferred, but qualified candidates within close proximity of any of our US locations or within the southeast region may be considered.

This role will be responsible for the following:

Provide IT Leadership
  • Develop and execute the overall IT roadmap and strategy to support Ventek’s business objectives.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the IT team, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Focus on building strong partnerships within the organization to understand the current and future needs of the business, to support end users and growth initiatives.
  • Vendor Management – manages third party relationships to ensure compliance and commitment to established service levels.
  • Develop and manage IT budget, identifying opportunities for investments, appropriate use of assets and cost‑savings initiatives.
  • Establish KPI metrics to measure health and success of IT function.
Systems & Infrastructure
  • Maintain, implement and ensure the smooth operation and reliability of the organization’s systems and business applications, including ERP, CRM, Treasury Management System, HRIS, etc.
  • Assess and provide recommendations for solutions that provide improved functionality and productivity.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of networks, servers and software.
  • Identify and provide needed training and support for end users with a commitment to continuously improve the user experience and productivity.
Security & Compliance Assurance
  • Ensure robust security measures are in place and maintained to protect the organization, information and assets from cyber threats.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Developing security policies and procedures.
  • Conducting risk assessments and establishing incident response plans.
  • Overseeing security awareness training and staying updated on the latest security trends to proactively address potential vulnerabilities and mitigate risks.
Project Management
  • Overseeing the planning, execution and successful completion of technology projects.
  • Defining project objectives, creating project plans, assigning tasks and monitoring progress to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Coordinating with stakeholders, managing resources, and mitigating risks to achieve project goals.
  • Manage the systems integration for all successful acquisitions as part of the Ventek’s roll‑up strategy.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years experience in IT leadership roles, with a blend of large and small company IT experience.
  • Experience with IT operations across multiple manufacturing locations in US and Mexico.
  • Must have the willingness and ability to be a working leader.
  • Must have ERP implementation experience.
  • Strong understanding of the analytical and system‑driven requirements of a growing, standalone company.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to oversee complex transitions and integrations.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel to various locations and acquisition sites as required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
