QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
Education- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems
- Seven (7) years with Master's or 11 years with Bachelor's degree of professional experience in systems administration to include supporting daily operational requirements of computer network systems including workstation, file servers, and web servers.
- Duties include installation of hardware, software, systems upgrades, network accounts, network security, and web page design, interface and updates, and local system design documentation.
- Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and implementing network security tools including firewalls, anti‑virus, and intrusion detection services.
- Capable of training staff on software applicable to their position, assisting customers with information technology, monitoring system configuration (hardware and software), and providing instruction on computers and applications.
- TS/SCI level Clearance required.
- Dependent on task, individual shall meet the latest Cybersecurity workforce certification/training in accordance with DoD 8570.1M and subsequent DoD 8140 manual as applicable. Must have or be able to attain within 30 days of assignment Information Assurance Technical (IAT) II certification.
The Systems Administrator administers and supports daily operational requirements of computer network systems including workstation, file servers, and web servers. Duties typically involve the installation of hardware, software, systems upgrades, network accounts, network security, and web page design, interface and updates, and local system design documentation. This administrator will maintain, troubleshoot, and implement network security tools including firewalls, anti‑virus, and intrusion detection services.
This administrator trains staff on software applicable to their position, assists customers with information technology, monitors system configuration (hardware and software), and provides instruction on computers and applications.
Essential duties of the job include:
- Ability to communicate task requirement information to client in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods, and to lead and participate in meetings and working groups.
- Requires visual acuity to use a keyboard.
- Must attend work each day during scheduled hours unless on travel or approved time off.
- Ability to work on computer for long periods and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face‑to‑face.
Physical demands and work environment:
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
- May occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- May be exposed to chemicals related to office equipment.
